Eyewear + Paris = Silmo! What else!
If you follow me on Instagram you already know that, this year, Behind My Glasses is going to be one of the official blogs of the French fair. Also, I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the Silmo D’Or jury.
What this blog has achieved so far is amazing and Stefano and I are simply honored.

Silmo Next – Futurology
Silmo Next si super fascinating. It aims to present the products and the future of the optics industry connecting it with its historical and new players of emerging markets. This first year, the Futurology space promotes products and start-ups in 4 fields: sport, well-being and health, entertainment and additive manufacturing.

Having a caffé with Michel Penneman
The Belgian designer Michel Penneman is this year Chair of the Panel of Silmo D’Or. For those who don’t know him already, he’s an interior designer internationally renowned for his hotel renovations.
I think it would be awesome to have the chance to meet him this year at Silmo and to have a chat about conceptual architecture. Penneman is the mind behind the stunning Pantone Hotel in Brussels, because of which, he won the Paris Hospitality Award for Best Novelty of the Year 2010 and first prize in the Miami Travel & Leisure Awards in the same year.
Plus, he always wear fantastic frames!

Se mi seguite su Instagram sapete già che, quest’anno, Behind My Glasses è blog partner ufficiale della fiera francese. In più, non potrei essere più orgogliosa di essere nella giuria del Silmo D’Or.
In generale, quello che questo blog ha raggiunto fino ad oggi è incredibile. Stefano ed io siamo semplicemente onorati.
Bene, proseguendo a parlare dell’argomento fulcro di questo articolo, eccovi una bella lista delle ragioni per cui dovreste venire a Silmo questo anno.

Questo nuovo spazio è davvero affascinante. Questa nuova sezione, infatti, ha lo scopo di creare una connessione fra il passato ed il futuro del mondo dell’ottica, fra la parte storica ed i mercati emergenti. Quest’anno, il primo, the Futurology space promuove prodotti e start-up che provengono da 4 campi: sport, benessere e salute, intrattenimento e additive manufacturing.

Prendersi un caffè con Michel Penneman
Il designer belga Michel Penneman sarà quest’anno a capo della giuria del Silmo D’Or. Per quelli che non lo conoscono già, si tratta di un interior designer conosciuto a livello mondiale per la sua bravura e genio nel rinnovare hotel ed alberghi.
Credo che sarebbe fantastico poterlo incontrare quest’anno al Silmo ed fare una bella chiacchierata con lui.
Penneman è, per esempio, la mente dietro al meraviglio Pantone Hotel a Brussel, grazie al quale si è guadagnato l’ambito Paris Hospitality Award per il Best Novelty dell’anno 2010 ed il primo premio al Miami Travel & Leisure Awards, lo stesso anno.
